SUMMARY:
Provide Rf engineering support for consumer cable products including cable STBs, DOCSIS modems, and gateway products. The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is responsible for providing technical support and winning designs at customers. The Territory includes US, Canada and Mexico. This position will focus on the accounts in the territory, but may also require travel to other regions around the world as required by the company. After completion of training the candidate will required to spend 20 to 30% of the time away from the office visiting customers with sales. new element
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:
- Customer visits to third-party (silicon) manufacturers and OEM/ODM customers.
- Analyze industry and market technical requirements to define future product development needs.
- Work with Product Management and Marketing to define datasheets, update New Product Presentations, and develop other marketing collateral material.
- Field customer technical enquiries via email and or telephone/conference calls.
- Oversee, prioritize, and manage internal issues to ensure customer satisfaction in production development.
- Create/update and present Distributor and Rep trainings on Pulse´s new and existing technologies on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Candidate to be able to demonstrate experience within the field radio frequency (RF) engineering.
- Working knowledge of inductor and magnetic design techniques as applied to a transmission line transformer, coupler/splitter is a requirement.
- Capable of demonstrating a track record of closing design-wins from product conception to revenue. A strong sense of ownership and drive is a must.
- Direct experience working in or with cable operators, cable STB manufactures, cable modem manufacturers, or in semiconductor suppliers to these companies is highly desirable
- Presentation skills experience with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Familiar with Acrobat and AutoCAD for data sheet creation and publication
- Provide cross-reference support to customers, sales and marketing
- Capable of leading technical discussions • Confident of presenting product technical features and benefits.
- Capable of analyzing competitor product drawings and act as a liaison between customer and our internal design teams, resolving quality issues or design issues.
- Provide regular feedback to the company's engineering, product development and marketing teams regarding product definition and direction.
- Working knowledge of MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Acrobat software (training will be provided).
EDUCATION:
BSEE or equivalent required with major in RF analogue and mixed signal engineering
